Meeting Structure

The conference will run over four full days (with a half-day off for optional field trip). Each half-day will have a lead-off plenary lecture emphasizing the symposium theme and key topic areas, followed by concurrent (two parallel) sessions of contributed papers. Poster sessions will occur on the afternoon of the first two days of the conference and will be held in a prominent and spacious central location to facilitate maximum exposure and ease of movement; refreshments will be served. Lunches will be catered at the conference center: Monday and Tuesday will be working lunches devoted to the business of forming the International Paleolimnology Association (IPA). An all-attendee business meeting will be held at the conclusion of the conference to elect the first Executive Board of the IPA, choose the venue for the next symposium and consider other conference-related matters.
